Fizz FM / Privacy
Your music.
Your information.
Privacy policy · Effective September 28, 2026
Fizz FM is a music app and website from HyperSocial, which is responsible for the information described here. This policy explains what we collect when you visit fizz.fm, use the app, ask for early access, or contact us, and what we do with it. Questions and privacy requests go to hyperjam-support@hypersocial.ai.
Accounts and sign-in
You can play in the app as a guest. If you create an account, Clerk runs sign-in: you can sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a one-time code sent to your email. Clerk stores your sign-in details (your email, name, profile image and linked Apple or Google account) and keeps a session on your device, in its keychain, so you stay signed in. We don’t request access to your Gmail, Google Drive or contacts. Our own backend stores only an account ID, the display name you choose (you can change it in the app), and when you joined.
Composing and your tracks
Composing needs an account. When you ask the composer for music, we send your request, your recent conversation with the composer, and the code of the beats in your track to AI model providers through OpenRouter. Today that is a Google Gemini model, which reads your request, and Anthropic Claude models, which write the music. We don’t send your name, email or account ID with these requests. The providers’ own handling and retention depend on their terms and our settings with them, so please don’t put sensitive personal information in prompts. We don’t train AI models on your prompts.
We store each composer request, the beats it worked from, what it wrote back, and technical logs, linked to your account, so we can run the composer and fix problems. Apart from that, your tracks and settings live on your phone. They aren’t published or shown to other users. If a future update lets you publish tracks, we’ll update this policy first.
The Discover feed and this website show tracks published by Fizz FM. Playing one in the app adds one to an anonymous play count that isn’t linked to you. If you heart a track while signed in, we store that heart with your account so it follows you to your other devices.
Microphone and speech
The app asks before it uses your microphone or speech recognition. Your voice is turned into text by Apple’s speech recognition, on your device when your iPhone supports it and otherwise by Apple. We never receive or store recordings of your voice. Only the text is used, as a composer request. You can change these permissions in iOS Settings.
Sounds, the website and videos
The app and the website play music on your device. When a sound is first needed they download instrument samples and sound fonts from public content servers, including Strudel’s sample CDN and GitHub, which receive ordinary request information such as your IP address. The notes you play on the website’s keys stay in your browser.
The videos on the home page don’t load until you click one. Then YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com) loads, under Google’s terms. This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. Vercel, which hosts it, processes technical request information such as your IP address and browser details to deliver and secure the site.
Early access
If you ask for early access on fizz.fm, we store your email address, whether you asked for news, and when you asked. We use it to send your TestFlight invite, which means giving your email to Apple, and to send you occasional news about Fizz FM only if you ticked the box. We keep it until you ask us to delete it or we no longer need it for the beta. To be removed, email hyperjam-support@hypersocial.ai.
Why we use information
We use your account, hearts and composer requests to provide the features you ask for, and composer logs and technical information to keep the service running, fix errors, prevent misuse and keep it secure. We use the microphone and speech recognition only with your permission. We answer the emails you send us. We don’t make decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects by automated means.
Who else handles it
Service providers handle information only to do their job for us: Clerk (sign-in), Convex (our backend), Vercel (this website), OpenRouter, Google and Anthropic (the composer), and Apple (speech recognition, Sign in with Apple and TestFlight). Google and Apple also process information under their own terms when you sign in with them. We may disclose information when the law requires it or to protect people and the service.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioural advertising or use it for targeted ads. Fizz FM doesn’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and hearts until you delete your account. We keep composer requests and logs while we run the composer, until you ask us to delete them. Tracks and settings on your phone stay there until you remove them. Copies in backups can take a while to expire. Some information may be kept longer when security or the law requires it.
Your choices and rights
You can use Fizz FM as a guest, sign out, and change device permissions at any time. You can delete your account in the app’s Settings: this deletes your sign-in account with Clerk and, on our servers, your profile and hearts, and signs you out. To delete your composer history as well, or for anything else, email hyperjam-support@hypersocial.ai.
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. Email us and we’ll reply within a month (45 days for California residents). We may ask you to confirm the account is yours. You can use an authorized agent, and we won’t treat you differently for using these rights. If you’re in the EEA or the UK you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Where it’s processed
Our service providers are mainly in the United States, so your information may be processed in countries other than your own, where data protection laws can differ.
Children
Fizz FM isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Security
Information travels encrypted, and we limit who can reach it at our providers. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us if you think something is wrong.
Updates
As Fizz FM develops, this policy will change. The date above shows the current version. For material changes we’ll give more notice, in the app or by email, before they take effect.
